The Linkysy WAG54G wireless router/adsl modem is notoriously unreliable.

Usually, after cca 20 minutes of warm-up, the thing dies and the only help is a flick of the on-off switch. Once it reaches the ‘optimal temperature’, it repeats the freezing every 15-20 minutes.
This is a known, very common, but unfixable issue. Upgrades of firmware make it only worse.

If you planned to buy it, DON’T.

Still, there seems to be a little light at the end of the tunnel for those of us who already made the mistake:
In a last desperate attempt to get it running I’ve switched it two weeks ago to enforced 802.11b. It was up since then. Slow, but up.

Still, it’s definitely not what I’ve paid for, and Cisco Systems should IMHO be deeply ashamed for putting their name on this raunchy contraption.
